Coronavirus News highlights: Today is the 131st day since India implemented a nationwide lockdown, to help curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. So far, India has recorded 16,95,988 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 36,511 deaths. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Yet, India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 64.5 percent. 'Unlock 3.0' begins today.

2,589 new COVID-19cases and 48 deaths reported in West Bengal today. The total number of cases now stands at 72,777 in the state including 20,631 active cases, 50,517 discharged cases and 1,629 deaths.
Chhattisgarh on Saturday reported 193 COVID-19cases taking the state's count to 9,385, while the death toll climbed to 55 after an elderly woman succumbed to the infection.
However, the day also saw 380 patients getting discharged after recovery.
Of the freshcases, 81 were from Raipur, 53 from Durg, nine from Bilaspur, eight each from Rajnandgaon and Janjgir- Champa, seven from Surguja, five from Koriya, four each from Raigarh, Balodabazar and Kabirdham, three from Mungeli and two from Bastar, besides one each from Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Mahasamund, Bemetara and Balod.

Odisha records highest single day spike in COVID-19 cases, toll mounts to 187
Odisha registered its highest single-day spike of 1,602 COVID-19 cases on Saturday pushing the state's tally to 33,479 Saturday and the toll rose to 187 with 10 more deaths, a health department official said.
The 10 fresh fatalities were reported from four districts. Ganjam reported the highest five deaths, three in Khurda and one each in Gajapati and Sundergarh districts, the official said.
