Coronavirus India News Highlights: Today is the 74th day of India’s nationwide lockdown, meant to curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. Confirmed COVID-19 cases in India stand at 2,36,657. The death toll from the outbreak in India is at 6,642. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases. A number of activities will be allowed to resume in a phased manner over this month as part of 'Unlock 1'.
Globally, there have been over 67.3 lakh confirmed cases of COVID-19. At least 3.94 lakh people have died so far. The United States, Brazil, Russia, the United Kingdom and Spain are the most-affected countries.
A23-year-old stranded footballer from Ghana,Randy Juan Muller, had to spend 72 days at Mumbai airport after the government cancelled all international flights to and from India. Muller had come to India to play for a sports club in Kerala.

498 new coronavirus patientswere detected in Gujarat on Saturday, taking the number ofcases in the state to 19,617, while the death of 29 COVID-19 patients took the toll to 1,219, state health department said.

Two more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Ladakh taking the total number of cases in the Union Territory to 99, Health department officials said on Saturday.
The number of COVID-19 cases in Ahmedabad rose to 13,967 on Saturday with 289 more people testing positive for coronavirus while the death toll rose by

Five Border Security Force (BSF)jawans on Saturday tested positive for novel coronavirus in Bhuj in Gujarat's Kutch district, an official said. The five jawans of the BSF's 79th battalion stationedat Bhuj were detected with the infection after they resumed duty post a holiday in their native states, the Kutch districtofficial said. (PTI)
