Coronavirus India News highlights: Today is the eighty-third day of India’s nationwide lockdown, meant to curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. A number of activities are being allowed to resume in a phased manner over this month as part of 'Unlock 1.0'. Confirmed COVID-19 cases in India stand at 3,32,424. The death toll from the outbreak in India is at 9,520. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases.
Globally, there have been over 79.3 lakh confirmed cases of COVID-19. At least 4.3 lakh people have died so far. The United States, Brazil, Russia, India and the United Kingdom are the most-affected countries.

30 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Jharkhand today, taking the total number of cases in the state to 1,793 including 784 active cases and 1,000 recovered.
The state has reported highest single-day spike of virus-related deaths today. 178 deaths have been reported from the state, out of which 29 have been recorded in the past two days and the rest over the past couple of days. This takesthe total number of deaths in the state to 4,128. 2,786 fresh COVID-19 cases have also been reported.
In addition to facilitating the Vande Bharat Mission, DGCA granted permission to around 870 chartered flights, transporting around 2 lakh passengers, both inbound andoutbound. Several Airlines helped in the humanitarian mission of taking stranded people to their destinations.
Meanwhile, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has revokedemergency authorization of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine, saying they are “unlikely to be effective”.
Mumbai reports 1,066 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of cases in the city to 59,201. 58 deaths were also reported from the city today, taking the total number of deaths in the city to 2,248.
73 deaths and 1,647 new positive cases reported in Delhi today; the total number of positive cases in the national capital is now 42,829, death toll 1400.
133 new COVID-19 cases reported in Madhya Pradesh today, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 10,935.
5,071 COVID-19patients discharged today. The recovery rate in the state is 47.2 percent. So far, 56,049 patients have recovered.
32 more COVID-19cases reported in Manipur taking the total number of cases in the state to 490. Number of active cases stands at 339.

1,843 COVID-19casesand 44 deaths reported in Tamil Nadu today. Total number of cases in the state is now at 46,504, including 25,344 discharged, 20,678 active cases and479 deaths.
